Sometimes, improving your game and achieving a perfect golf swing is not about all the latest golf aid equipment or how many times you literally step on the green to practice. There is another way you can have a significant improvement to your game :visualization.
Visualization is a very powerful tool because you can essentially train your brain to lead your body to act in the ways you need it to ,in actual game play. Many successful athletes use visualization as a technique regardless of their sport. They visualize the whole process, from the moment they step on the baseball mound or until they stick their landing and complete their pose.
Using the visualization technique, you can work towards a perfect golf swing, anywhere. It’s a lot like meditation in that you will need to be able to practice without being interrupted. If possible, it would be great for you to practice visualizing your perfect swing, in the same type of environment where you really play. Take your lunch hour and go to the green. Hear the sounds, smell the smells and imagine yourself step by step as you play. Review all aspects, in detail, from the clothes you are wearing, to how warm or cool the weather is, the ball, the club, the trees and the flag.
A perfect golf swing extends well beyond just having the best equipment to play the game. Yes, you need quality, reliable equipment and a lot of practice but that practice needs to be both physically and mentally as perfect as possible. Don’t replay your negative or unsuccessful plays in your head. You must focus on thinking about the positive and successful visualization of your game experience in every way.
You may have to explain to friends and family, that the time you are taking to visualize your perfect golf swing is important. You are actually practicing, just not physically. So your wife, husband, or kids may need to be asked to not interrupt you when you announce that you are going to be in your office or need some time alone to think about your game. The more often you can practice your perfect game in your head, down to every detail, the more confidence and natural instincts your body can draw from, during physical play.
